Is NSFW on Discord illegal? ›

Content that is explicitly p*rnographic, depicting sexual acts, or depicting nudity is prohibited anywhere on a partnered server. Content that includes discussions of nudity, sexuality and violence is considered NSFW content and should occur only in the properly marked channels.

How old should you be to use Discord? Discord requires that users be at least 13 years old, although they don't verify users' age upon signup. Common Sense Media also recommends that Discord users be at least 13 due to its open chat.

Discord also does its best to analyze the NSFW content to see if you are violating any of the guidelines. All these steps are taken to ensure a safe and controlled environment for users.

The minimum age to access Discord is 13, unless local legislation mandates an older age. To ensure that users satisfy that minimum age requirement, users are asked to confirm their date of birth upon creating an account.

Our Community Guidelines require that all adult content posted to Discord be kept behind an age-restricted gate. Server owners can designate specific channels as being 18+ by adding an age-restricted gate. Entire servers can now be classified as 18+ through the use of an age-restricted server designation.

Any content that can't be added into an age-gated channel can't include adult content like server banners, invite splashes, and avatars. Adult content that isn't placed in the Discord NSFW channel will be removed by moderators and the user who posted the content may be banned from the server.
