You soon realize that you actually are not alone and that you share the vessel with some mutants that are looking for a fresh meal. The Necromorphs as they are referred in-game are the savaged members of the crew who were reanimated in some anomalous manner and you must do all that you can to stop them.

Alone and armed with only his engineering tools and skills, Isaac tries to find his beloved as the nightmarish mystery of what happened aboard the Ishimura unravels around him. Isaac must face a battle for survival, not only against the ongoing terrors the ship endures but also to retain his sanity as best as possible and not give in to the devastation he is surrounded by.
